Tilenga Project Restoration Efforts in Murchison Falls National Park
CLIENT
TotalEnergies EP Uganda
A Mara Mambo Media documentary for TotalEnergies EP Uganda, capturing the Tilenga Project’s environmental restoration efforts in and around Murchison Falls National Park. Our team documented land rehabilitation, vegetation recovery, community engagement, and conservation work in the field — from sweeping aerial views to intimate moments of restoration — telling a larger story about development, responsibility, and the future of conservation in Uganda.
The Project Brief
Uganda’s natural beauty is undoubtedly one of its greatest treasures, and right at the heart of that beauty stands the iconic Murchison Falls National Park. Known worldwide for its breathtaking landscapes, rich wildlife, and roaring waterfall, the park remains one of East Africa’s most important conservation areas.
As the Tilenga oil development project continues to expand across the country, environmental restoration and sustainability have become increasingly important conversations. Alongside developing oil and gas, the Tilenga Project has implemented various restoration initiatives to protect biodiversity and preserve the ecological balance of the national park. The focus is on restoring affected areas, supporting vegetation recovery, and ensuring that conservation remains a priority alongside infrastructure development.
At Mara Mambo Media, we had the opportunity to document some of the restoration activities taking place within and around Murchison Falls National Park. As a Ugandan media company specializing in documentaries, branded storytelling, and visual production, we believe stories like these deserve to be seen and remembered. Our team of photographers and videographers traveled to the field to capture restoration work as it happened — documenting the landscapes, community engagement, conservation efforts, and behind-the-scenes operations contributing to the project.
During our time on the ground, we witnessed teams working carefully within the landscape, taking measures to rehabilitate sections of land while maintaining respect for the park’s natural ecosystem. From sweeping aerial views of Murchison Falls National Park to intimate moments of environmental restoration, every frame helps tell a larger story about development, responsibility, and the future of conservation in Uganda.
At Mara Mambo Media, we believe that documentary storytelling is more than simply recording visuals — we freeze important moments that reflect real impact, for posterity.
